Henry County Genealogical Society Newsletter MEETINGS January 20, 1992, Monday, 7:00 pm
February 17, 1992, Monday, 7:00 pm
PUBLICATIONS Four new publications are now complete. Harrison Twp. Cemetery Inscriptions, Liberty Twp. Cemetery Inscriptions, U.S. Patent Deeds and Ohio State Deeds (Taken from Deed Indexes at the Henry Co. Recorder's Office), and Obituaries Taken from The Deshler Flag Volume IV (1981-1985) are each $8.00 plus $2.00 postage. We are still in need of a chairman for the program committee. Those on the committee include the officers, who are all working as chairmen of other committees, etc. We need someone to do the calling and scheduling ONLY -- we have plenty of ideas for programs. If you can help, please call Karen or Lucille. MEMBERSHIP Though it's hard to believe, it is 1992 already. If you haven't renewed your HCGS membership, do so now. THANKS to all members who have recently submitted queries. Because of the surname listing in this issue there was very little room for queries. They will be used as soon as possible. Queries and information exchange are an important part of genealogy and we are happy to print as many as we can each month. If you have other information pertaining to Henry County that you would like to share, please send it to the address above and we will try to publish it in the newsletter as we have space available. QUERIES WENZINGER, YEAGER,
OEDY, KONZEN KLAUS, ERFORD, OEDY, WENZINGER,
WESTRICK, MERRITT SHEATS, SNYDER, COLE, RIGEL, ARBOGAST,
HOY Carolyn Nasarzewski also writes that she has a copy of the HISTORICAL ATLAS OF THE WORLD ILLUSTRATED, Giving Histories and Maps of all the Countries in their Geographical Statistical and Commercial Aspects Together with a Complete History of the Original Surveys of the United States. Compiled and Edited by Charles H. Jones assisted by Theodore F. Hamilton, H. H. Hardesty & Co. Publishers, Lakeside Building, Chicago, 1875. It appears to have either the original plats of the townships of HENRY COUNTY or the plats as they appeared just before that time, showing who owned what parcels of land. There are also "family histories". She is willing to look up someone's name for them if they would like, but cannot make the book available for use by others. It is not indexed. The remainder of the newsletter contains only members' names and addresses, and the surnames they are researching. For reasons of privacy, neither of those lists is reproduced in this electronic version of the newsletter. |
